Commonwealth Scholarships is a scholarship fully financed by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) for Master’s study in the UK for students from developing Commonwealth countries.
These scholarships are available in UK universities for eligible Masters Degree Programme at UK University for the following targeted group:
Bangladesh, Belize, Botswana, Cameroon, Dominica, Eswatini, Fiji, Gabon, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Montserrat, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Saint Helena, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, The Gambia, Togo, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, and Zambia
If you are a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country above you are qualified to apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Details:
Each scholarship includes coverage for airfare to and from the United Kingdom, tuition and examination fees, a stipend, thesis grant (if applicable), warm clothing allowance, and more.

who is qualified?
To be eligible for these scholarships, you should:
- Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
- Be a permanent resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
- Be prepared to commence your academic studies in the UK at the start of the academic year in September 2024
- Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard, or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification by September 2024. The CSC typically does not fund a second UK Master’s degree. If applying for a second UK Master’s degree, justification for undertaking this study must be provided
- Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship
- Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format

CSC doesn’t directly accept applications for these scholarships. All applications must go through one of the following nominating bodies: national nominating agencies (the main application route) or selected non-governmental organizations and charitable bodies.
Each nominating body is responsible for its selection process. You must check with your nominating body for specific advice and rules for their application, their eligibility criteria, and the closing date for applications.
You must make your application through the CSC’s Electronic Application System (EAS), in addition to any other application form required by your nominating body. All applications must be submitted by 17 October 2024, 17:00 BST at the latest.
