ICP Connect offers accredited international study programmes and provides scholarships to applicants from 29 eligible countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. These scholarships enable students to attend one of the 15 master’s programmes taught in English at Flemish universities. VLIR-UOS annually grants 10 new first-year scholarships for each ICP.

Scholarship details:
VLIR-UOS provides full scholarships for the entire duration of the Master’s Programme, which can be either 12 or 24 months. These scholarships cover tuition fees, travel, insurance, as well as living expenses including board and lodging.
Eligibility criteria:
- Nationality and residency: Applicants must be nationals of one of the 29 eligible countries and must be a resident of one of these countries (not necessarily the same country) at the time of application.
- Age: For an initial master’s programme, candidates must be 35 years old or younger as of January 1 in the year of intake. For an advanced master’s programme, the age limit is 45.
- Professional background and experience: Preference will be given to candidates employed in higher education, government, or civil society, or those aspiring to pursue a career in one of these sectors. Candidates from the private sector or recent graduates with no work experience may also be considered if they demonstrate a strong motivation and profile.
- Scholarship applications: Candidates may apply for only one ICP Connect scholarship per year.
- Previous scholarships: Applicants should not have previously received a scholarship from the Belgian government to attend a study programme. Additionally, they should not have enrolled in a study programme at a Belgian higher education institution before January 1 in the year of intake.

Application process:
To apply for the scholarship, you must submit separate applications for admission to the programme and for the scholarship via the university’s website. When applying for the programme, indicate your intention to apply for a scholarship. The deadlines vary and are set by the programmes, with most falling around February 1 or the end of February/beginning of March 2024.
