Western Kentucky University Scholarships for International Students (WKU) offers a variety of scholarships for international students to help reduce the cost of education and encourage academic excellence. These scholarships provide opportunities for both new undergraduate and graduate international students.
15 candidates have been chosen by Western Kentucky Scholarships to receive the school’s most coveted academic honor, the 2025–2026 Cherry Presidential Scholarship. The scholarship is valued at $16,000 annually and worth $64,000 over a four-year period.

Scholarship Overview
Western Kentucky University Scholarships provides three main scholarship opportunities for new international students: The Academic Merit Awards, TIPI Scholarship Funding, and OAS Scholarship Funding.
Each is designed to support students from diverse regions and academic backgrounds.
Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Merit Awards: Applicants of western Kentucky university scholarships should have A minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 (on a U.S. scale) is required.
- ACT or SAT scores are optional but can be submitted if available: Applicants should ensure to submit their ACT or SAT of a high range of approved scores.
- The application package that students must finish consists of the following: Applying to WKU and being accepted. This is prerequisite to this Scholarship Application.
- Submission of official high school transcripts and TIPI Scholarship Funding: This gives a complete information of the applicant and requests known to the school.
- Available to citizens of Nepal, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, or any country within Africa: These are selected countries and countries not chosen will not be considered .
- Eligibility is based on high school GPA on a U.S. scale: The applicant must have a high GPA that is valid on a U S scale.
- No additional application is required for consideration.
- OAS Scholarship Funding: The University of Kentucky Scholarships is Open to citizens of OAS (Organization of American States) countries. The University of Kentucky Scholarships provides up to $11,400 per year, renewable for up to eight semesters.
- To qualify, students must: Be admitted as undergraduate, face-to-face, F-1 students (transfer or first-time freshmen). Applicants Must Maintain full-time enrollment and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Note: The OAS Scholarship is not applicable to online programs and cannot be combined with the TIPI Scholarship.
