As of December 31, 2016, the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) was discontinued and replaced by the Research Training Program (RTP) starting from January 1, 2017. The RTP facilitates block grants to higher education providers (HEPs) on an annual basis to aid domestic and international students pursuing Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees, commonly referred to as higher degrees by research (HDRs).
Ongoing: Eiffel Excellence Scholarships
Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:
Under the Research Training Program (RTP), a university extends one or more of the following types of support to an RTP Scholarship recipient:
- RTP Fees Offset: This covers the tuition fees for a higher degree by research (HDR) student that would have been otherwise borne by the student. It necessitates the university to entirely offset the applicable tuition fee for the student. This is not a stipend.
- RTP Stipend: It helps students with their living costs during their higher degree by research.
- RTP Allowances: These assist students with ancillary costs related to a higher degree by research (HDR), covering relocation expenses, thesis printing and academic publication costs, as well as health cover for recipients and their dependents.
RTP scholarships are available for up to two years for a research masters or a minimum of three years, extending up to a maximum of four years (at the discretion of the HEP) for a research doctorate degree.
