Stipendum Hungaricuim scholarship is sponsored by the Hungarian government in a bid to attract international students to the country.
It is a scholarship established in 2013 and is focused on supporting students through higher institution (undergraduate, masters and doctoral). It is a bilateral scholarship program which aims to form a bond with Hungary and other participating countries.
Scholarship Overview
Stipendum Hungaricuim scholarship gives opportunity to students to study any program of their choice without the worries of tuition fees, accomodations and is as well put on a monthly stipend.
Applicants get to apply to only 2 of any public university and program in Hungary through the scholarship portal.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Must not be a Hungarian citizen
- Must be a Citizen of a country that hold a valid bilateral relationship with home country
- Applicants must be nominated by their sending partners
- Applicants must have the same citizenship as their sending partners.
- Must be eligible for admission to selected schools and program.
- Must be good in English or Hungarian language will at least B2 qualifications (Each Programs and schools have their different test score requirements)
- Must have an excellent academic record with high grades in your previous studies.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship covers the following expenses:
- Tuition Fees: Exemption from tuition fees for the entire duration of your studies.
- Monthly Stipend: A monthly stipend to cover living expenses.
- Accommodation: Free dormitory accommodation or a contribution towards accommodation costs.
- Medical Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance coverage.
Application Procedure
Application is online in the Stipendum Hungaricuim scholarship platform, applicants are expected to search and apply to only 2 school.
The process includes:
1. Online Registration: Register for the scholarship program on the official website.
2. Choosing a University and Program: Select the Hungarian university and the specific degree program you wish to study.
3. Submitting Application Documents: Upload the required documents which includes; academic transcripts, school certificates, language proficiency certificates, a letter of motivation and medical certificate.
4. Interview : This depends on the school you applied to as some universities do conduct interviews with shortlisted candidates.
5. Selection and Notification: The scholarship committee will review your application and select the successful candidates. You will be notified of the outcome via email.
