African Oxford Initiative Visiting Fellowship Program offers a unique structure that blends virtual collaboration with a fully funded, in-person residency at Oxford. The 12-month program consists of a two-month immersive stay at Oxford during the Trinity term (April to June) and ten months of remote engagement. Fellows join an Oxford college after being hosted by an Oxford department, giving them access to resources, academic guidance, and a thriving academic community.
African Oxford Initiative Visiting Fellowship Program, The Oxford Department for International Development, the Refugee Studies Center, the Faculty of Law, the Mathematical Institute, and other Oxford academic institutions have partnered with AfOx to make this fellowship possible. Eligibility Criteria
Inorder to be considered eligible,Applicants must:
- Be a national of, or permanently reside in, an African country. Any applicant who isn’t residing in African country will not be considered.
- Hold a current academic or research role at an African institution.
- Demonstrate a clear research agenda and the potential for collaboration with Oxford academics.
- Commit to contributing their research outcomes to their home institution or community.
