Scholarship Overview
East African Community Regional Centre of Excellence Scholarship aims to promote specialized postgraduate education in important health disciplines throughout the member states of the East African Community (EAC) through a fully funded academic initiative.
East African Community Regional Centre of Excellence Scholarship is designed to foster human capital and address regional challenges in health logistics and vaccine distribution, this program is supported by the EAC Secretariat and implemented through the University of Rwanda. It targets public servants from Burundi, DR Congo, Somalia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda, offering master’s programs tailored to the evolving health needs of the region.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, candidates need to:
- Be employed by the government of any of the EAC nations that qualify.
- Possess the appropriate bachelor’s degree required for admission to the program.Not exceed the age limit of 45 years.
- Show that you are proficient in English, the language of instruction.
Provide all necessary documentation:
- A signed letter with the director’s complete contact information and the program of choice.
- Updated resume.
- Copies of academic transcripts and certificates.
- Two academic reference letters.
- Recommendation letter from employer.
- Copy of national ID or passport.
- Not previously received funding for a master’s program through an RCE scholarship.
Application Procedures
Interested Applicants are advised to follow these instructions correctly:
- Visit the University of Rwanda website at ur.ac.rw.
- Navigate to the Admissions page and select “New Application” on the Applicant Portal.
- Complete the Biographical Form and save to receive a Student ID Reference Number.
- Create a 5-digit numeric PIN (do not start with 0).
- Submit required documents via the official Scholarship Website.
- Ensure all documents are submitted in PDF format.
- Incomplete applications will not be processed.

- Full tuition fees of EUR 6,000 for the program duration.
- Return economy class air tickets for face-to-face sessions in Kigali.
