Eligibility Criteria
Interested Candidates must meet these requirements:
- Nationality: This remarkable Scholarship is open to African nationals who are ordinarily residing in Africa and are only available to International fee-paying students.
- Applicants must be entering SOAS for the first time, with programs starting in the 2025/26 academic year.
Master’s degree applicants:
- Must possess or expect to receive an international equivalent to a first-class honours degree from a UK university or be in the top rank of their class, supported by academic references and transcripts.
- Applicants with a 2:1 degree may apply but will not be given preference.
PhD applicants:
- Must have or expect to be awarded an international equivalent to a master’s degree with distinction from a UK university.
- Applicants with a merit classification may also apply but will not be prioritized.
- Candidates must have completed their application to SOAS and should ensure they meet the English language requirements for admission.
