- Be under 25 of age by September 1st, 2025: A candidate above 25 of age will not be considered for the Undergraduate program.
- Have good physical and mental health: Applicants must be mentally and physically sound. Applicants for master’s must have a bachelor’s degree.
- High school diploma: Applicants must have a high school diploma by 1st September 2025.
- Academic achievement: The candidate must be successful in academics and maintain a good academic grade. The expectation of the Northwestern Polytechnic University of China is the average grade of 75% and above. NPU accepts SAT/ACT/A-level/AP/IB/GED or regional high school graduation examination results/Certificates or other Certificates as proof of academic success.
- Have a Chinese or proficiency test: must have a Chinese proficiency test or English-approved language proficiency test.
Application Procedures
There are two methods to apply for the Scholarship. Applicants should choose any method that suits them well:
- Chinese University program through University: Complete the online application at the NPU official application portal.This involves applying for scholarships using application links.
- Complete the interview: After Application, interview is scheduled by NPU and pre -admission notification is being sent to eligible students.
- Complete the application form: Fill out and complete necessary requirements at NPU common service system.The requirements needed include: Recommendation letters, Application form, photocopy of passport photo page, Signed no criminal activity Certificate (In English or Chinese), foreign physical examination form (photocopy).
2. Bilateral Program – Application through Local Chinese Embassy It is advised that eligible applicants submit their applications to the Chinese Embassy or local government first.

- Living Stipends per month: Within the Scholarship duration, registered Scholarship students receives a stipend from their host university each month. - Undergraduate students receive: CNY 2,500 per month;
- Master’s students receive: CNY 3,000 per month.
