Scholarship Overview
ETSU offers a range of scholarships for international students, each designed to recognize academic merit, creative abilities, and STEM excellence.
These scholarships help international students reduce tuition costs and make studying at ETSU more affordable. International Merit Scholarships.
These scholarships are available to new degree-seeking international students. No separate application is required students are automatically considered upon applying for admission.
Undergraduate Merit Scholarships: Available Scholarship, Award Amount and Requirements are;Blue Scholarship awards $5,000 per year and requires GPA higher than 3.0,Gold Scholarship awards $7,000 per year and requires GPA higher than 3.5,Elite Scholarship awards $9,000 per year and requires GPA higher than 3.75.
Graduate Merit Scholarships:Master’s Merit Scholarship awards $5,000 per year and requires GPA higher than 3.0.Doctoral Merit Scholarship awards $9,000 per year and requires GPA higher than 3.0.
Creative Arts Scholarships:Available to both undergraduate and graduate students, this scholarship allows recipients to pay in
-state tuition, saving them approximately $20,000 per year. Eligible Fields of Study Include:
– Advertising & Public Relations
– Art & Design – Digital Media
– Journalism & Radio-TV-Film
– Music, Theatre, Dance
– Speech & Debate Team
– Creative Writing, Storytelling – Gospel & International Choir
– Marching Band and Cheerleading.
STEM Community Outreach Scholarship: This scholarship is designed for new undergraduate students majoring in Computing, Geosciences, Mathematics, and Physics. Recipients pay in
State tuition, making the scholarship equivalent to around $20,000 per year.
Freshman Requirements:- GPA higher than 3.2
ACT Math higher than 25 / SAT Math higher than 1200
ACT English higher than 21 / SAT English higher than 1060
Eligibility Criteria
Must be a new, degree-seeking international student.
- Meet the GPA and test score requirements for each scholarship.
- Maintain full-time enrollment at ETSU: Applicants must have applied for a full-time course with the East Tennessee State University.
- Some scholarships require participation in specific programs or activities.

- Apply for Admission: Complete the ETSU application online and pay the $25 application fee.
- Submit Official Transcripts: Send sealed high school or college transcripts to the ETSU Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
